Arab culture has a long and rich tradition of using moral tales to teach their children important life lessons. In their second semester my students work in small groups and write and produce a short movie adapted from a fable.
They have four days to work on the project. On the first day they complete a work-sheet that introduces them to the vocabulary of fables. Then they choose a fable, complete a script and shoot and edit the video. As with their documentary project, their work is assessed on the quality of their scripts, performances and editing.
